Each year, the Alpha Omega Alpha class of inductees selects one or more projects to participate in as a group. These projects are designed to reflect the organization’s commitment to promoting service to others. This year, the Alpha Omega Alpha projects are as follows:
Toiletry Drive
- Over the course of the Fall Semester, we will collect travel-sized toiletry items from the College of Medicine to donate to St. Francis House, a local homeless shelter serving the community of Gainesville.
Collaborative Learning Group Mentorship
- Starting in the Spring of 2019, members of AOA and the fourth-year class will participate in a new project called the “Community of Mentorship (COM) Initiative.” Members and other fourth-year students will serve as mentors in the Collaborative Learning Groups to facilitate discussion on common questions, concerns, and topics that commonly arise at certain parts of the UFCOM curriculum.
