Each year, new medical student members are selected for induction into Alpha Omega Alpha by a committee of faculty members.
For students, membership is limited to those who have excelled academically and in leadership, scholarship, character, service and future potential as a physician. Only one-fifth of the total class enrollment may be chosen, and the final determination is held by vote from faculty and student members.
The University of Florida College of Medicine’s Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society celebrated its new members during an annual banquet the evening of March 16. Election to the prestigious national organization is reserved for a select few students, residents and faculty who have excelled academically and in teaching, service, character and patient care.
